WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a modern form of permanent cosmetics that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows with an ultra fine point "micro-blade". It’s perfect for people who want to fill in sparse brows or create a fuller shape. Simulated hair strokes are expertly created and applied by hand between the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin which is the ideal depth for cosmetic tattoos. Microblading results are nothing short of amazing! The strokes appear very natural and indistinguishable from real brow hair. This new treatment is also sometimes referred to as 3D Brows or Embroidery Brows. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other condition resulting in hair loss benefit greatly from microblading, as well as those who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows.
Microblading typically takes two appointments for optimal results with specific precare and aftercare required, but your microblading should be completely healed in 30 days.
The follow up appointment is a touch up at least 30 days after the first session, but not past 8 weeks. This allows the color to settle and for the skins natural cell turnover rate to complete the healing process. Some slough off of the skin in the treated area is normal during this time. In your touch up appointment, the cosmetician can see how your skin has received the pigment and make any necessary corrections.
WHAT IS MICROSHADING?
Microshading, also known as Powder Brows, is perfect for all skin types, especially those that are oily or have sensitive skin. This procedure is unlike the traditional eyebrow tattoo of the 90's due to the depth of pigment, technique and use of cosmetic pigment created for the face. It's a wonderful option for those with little to no brow hair, want more of a makeup look to their eyebrows or want to disguise old and faded permanent makeup.
Microshading creates a soft gradient of color that is deposited using a manual tool or machine. This technique effectively saturates the skin of the eyebrows with tiny dots of pigment. The result is gorgeous and provides a more powdery, defined and filled in look for those that no longer want to spend time applying traditional makeup to fill in their brows. Some clients prefer the combining of simulated hair strokes as well as the filled in powder effect known as "Microblading and Shading" or "Combo Brows". During your consultation your highly trained and experienced cosmetician can help you determine which treatment is right for you based on your needs and desired result.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Microbladed eyebrows last 1 to 2 years for most people, before it usually needs a touch up. This can vary depending on the skin type and how you take care of the treated area.
The concentration of pigment is greater with Microshading with results lasting up to 6 months longer than Microblading alone.
DOES IT HURT?
Most clients report little to no pain, and would compare it to a brow tweezing session. Many clients even fall asleep! Topical anesthetic is applied during the procedure so the client can feel at ease while receiving the treatment.
HOW LONG IS THE PROCEDURE?
During the Microblading consultation we review your lifestyle, daily brow maintenance and answer additional questions you may have. Once you've decided Microblading is right for you we schedule your procedure appointment. During the procedure we first map the brows according to the Golden Ratio of Beauty, known as "Phi", for symmetry and balanced proportion specific to your face and bone structure. Once you approve the brow shape, the procedure takes about an hour and a half. This entire session takes up to 2.5-3 hours.
WHEN SHOULD I GET A TOUCH UP? HOW MUCH IS IT?
You should schedule your appointment 4-8 weeks after your initial treatment for optimal results. After this time, we charge a fee for an annual color boost.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MICROBLADING?
Microblading is not recommended for those with oily skin or large pores. If that’s you, you may want Microshading or a combination of the Microblading and Shading technique, sometimes referred to as "Combo" or "Powder" brows. We also do not provide microblading or shading for people:
